We're located 3 hours from the Bay Area and about 30 miles from Yosemite National Park in beautiful Mariposa California.

Discover Mariposa

A true hidden gem; this town sees 4 million people passing on their way to Yosemite, but so few have the opportunity to get to know the beauty of Mariposa and the residents who personify its small-town greatness.

Happy Goat Yosemite will be a destination resort for families, companies, for anyone that wants to slow down, connect with nature and get to know this amazing place.

Who we are

John, Dave, and Willie moved to Mariposa in 2019. We've learned a bunch, met some amazing people, and revel in every moment of this exciting journey.

If you're wondering how this went from a driving academy to a farm, we'd love to share more over a cup of coffee or malted beverage. But the short answer is: we've listened, learned, and are incredibly grateful to the residents who've been a part of the ride! If you're a resident of Mariposa and you'd like to meet up, share ideas, please reach out...

THANKS FOR GETTING IN TOUCH!

The Happy Goat represents an exciting new format for agrotourism.

Most farmers that engage the public do so to augment their income and to sell products. Our 80+ acre farm is being intentionally designed as an experiential learning facility.

Marked trails will lead you through the farm, allowing you to immerse yourself, at your own pace. We'll have youth/summer camp programs, technical tours, historical exhibits, culinary classes, and workshops that use materials from the farm to make a variety of products.

Students from the Mariposa community will be eligible for paid internships at the farm as well as enrollment in our entrepreneurship academy.

Black Soil

Healthy soil = healthy food

You may notice scientists wandering the fields... rest assured they're not lost! We've partnered with the USDA and California Department of Food and Agriculture to ensure our soil is healthy and full of good bacteria that lead to healthier and more delicious fruits, veggies, and even eggs.

Our fighting goats

Our goats are sweet and friendly, but every day they're on the front lines fighting climate change! Our goats' grazing helps the soil retain carbon from the atmosphere. With healthy farming practices like these, top soil could retain 40% of all carbon in the atmosphere... fight on, goats!
